Alexandre F. DaSilva, DDS, DMedSc
Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Alexandre DaSilva is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work at the intersection of migraine/pain neuroscience and digital health. As an Endowed Professor at the University of Michigan and Director of the H.O.P.E. (Headache & Orofacial Pain Effort) Laboratory, Dr. DaSilva leads a multidisciplinary team focused on neuroscience-driven innovations for chronic pain disorders like migraine, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), and fibromyalgia.
With advanced training in oral biology and clinical pain management from Harvard University, followed by research in migraine/pain neuroimaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital, Dr. DaSilva has pioneered novel approaches using neuroimaging, non-invasive brain stimulation, and advanced health technologies—including generative AI, mobile platforms, and AR/VR.
His research has contributed to new ways clinicians and scientists understand, diagnose, and treat chronic migraine/pain—earning support from multiple branches of the NIH and widespread recognition in both scientific circles and mainstream media, including the Discovery Channel, US Today, and Scientific American Mind.
At MELD Health, Dr. DaSilva brings his expertise to reimagine how patients and providers connect and communicate about pain. He guides the development and integration of our MELD Health’s products, ensuring that every innovation is rooted in robust science and driven by compassion for those suffering from chronic pain and migraine.
“Our central R&D objective at MELD Health is to finally unlock true understanding between patients and clinicians—making every experience visible, measurable, and actionable, so pain care, relief and healing are no longer out of reach.” Dr. DaSilva
